‘It’s a really awful name’ [current user 35-45 years]

We know that RetarDEX isn’t a great brand name.

However, it was developed by a Professor of Dentistry and his team to actively retard  the growth of plaque by killing on contact the bacteria that cause it.  

Because their expertise was dentistry, not marketing they decided to name the brand: Retard (to slow or delay) and EX for Expertise. Although this makes sense if you’re a dental academic, they didn’t consider the broader use of the word by everyday consumers!
